The awards ceremony hosted at the 2021 AOAC INTERNATIONAL Annual Meeting in Boston, MA, August 30, 2021, honored hundreds of scientists for their contributions to AOAC and scientific excellence.
Harvey W. Wiley Award
AOAC INTERNATIONAL’s most prestigious scientific award, the Harvey W. Wiley Award, is presented to a scientist (or group of scientists) who have made an outstanding contribution to analytical method development in an area of interest to AOAC INTERNATIONAL.
William Horwitz Award
The William Horwitz Award, established in 1995 in honor of Dr. Horwitz’s lifetime of accomplishments and dedication to AOAC, is the highest volunteer award bestowed by AOAC.
Fellows of AOAC INTERNATIONAL
The Fellow of AOAC INTERNATIONAL Award recognizes the dedication and commitment of those volunteers who have served the Association for at least 10 years.
Paper of the Year
This award recognizes the most outstanding original and creative journal article published in the peer-reviewed Journal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL in the calendar year.

Section of the Year
This award recognizes the role AOAC Sections play in advancing analytical excellence in the areas of food safety, food integrity, and public health.

As part of the Harvey W. Wiley Award program, the winner can nominate a student to receive the Harvey Wiley Award Scholarship.
AOAC INTERNATIONAL/Eurofins Foundation “Testing for Life” Student Award
This award, supported by contributions from the Eurofins Foundation, is designed to encourage student researchers who are advancing basic or applied science in analytical or molecular testing for food safety, food security, food defense, food authenticity, or health and environmental protection.
AOAC INTERNATIONAL/Herbalife Nutrition Scholarship
This student scholarship, supported by contributions from Herbalife Nutrition, is designed to encourage student researchers who are advancing analytical or molecular (DNA) testing.
AOAC INTERNATIONAL/SCIEX Rising Star Award
This award, supported by contributions from SCIEX, is designed to encourage the integration of graduate students into AOAC INTERNATIONAL, with a focus on candidates with demonstrable potential to become thought leaders and scientific influencers in their respective fields.
